HISTORY

Following graduation from Kansas State University in May of 1994, Dr. Ken Chaffin and his wife, Lela, moved to Winona, MN. Dr. Chaffin began employment with Town and Country Veterinary Hospital on Mankato Avenue as a mixed animal Associate Veterinarian servicing both large and small animals. Dr. Chaffin enjoyed his position with TCVH, travelling the bluff country and becoming acquainted with great people in the rural agricultural setting as well as residents of the Winona community. As the need for more pet care increased, Dr. Chaffin’s time was dedicated more to servicing the small animal clients and patients. In February of 2000, Dr. Chaffin purchased the small animal part of Town and Country Veterinary Hospital from Dr. John Bengfort and started Companion Animal Care Center, a family pet care center. As the business grew, Dr. Chaffin felt the need to expand and broke ground on a new veterinary facility in December 2007. Companion Animal Care Center moved to its current location at 640 Innovation Drive in November of 2008 and continues to service the veterinary needs of the Winona community.
